Sub Accounts fully featured OR upgradable to Master Accounts
Either allow Sub Accounts (via it's Master Account) to connect to Facebook, use real names, use profile picture, send name requests, use the share button, Twitch stream, etc., OR allow Sub Accounts to be upgraded to Master Accounts.

I've been using a subaccount since I first got my ps3 and learned you couldn't change your psn name. Since the only limitation to the subaccount was adding funds to the wallet, I figured what the heck, let me get a name I liked.. and I've used it ever since. Soooooo, all my digital purchases are tied to that subaccount.. all my trophies.. two years of playstation plus... etc. So yeah, I'm definately wanting the ability to upgrade that account to a master account OR if that actually is as impossible as they're making it out to be (why?), at least remove the PS4-centric restrictions from the subs so I can maybe upload a screenshot or Twitch. I can still load money to the wallet thru the master account, no biggie.

And, of course, microsoft allows this: http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/security/promote-child-account ... so... for PSN, do we need to lie about the kid's age???

Saw this tweet from a PlayStation engineer from Europe. Whilst I can't promise a time to make this happen - but, we are aware of it...once there's a fix it'll be on the usual channels! https://twitter.com/philmonkey/status/405466315097264128

Come on Sony, the longer you leave this, the more customers you are going to alienate. Please fix it, it's not fair to expect people to leave behind paid content, saved data and trophies.

Pretty silly that in this day and age, Sony expect people to abandon all their trophies and content in order to play their systems as adults without restrictions. Sony never asked for proof of age, so why are they restricting people who simply told the truth and set their accounts up legitimately?

I was bitterly disappointed when I found out you couldn't upgrade your account, and that turned to outright anger after I realised just how handicapped my new PS4 was as a Sub holder. I can't just throw away over 80 platinum trophies and a wealth of paid content to start a new Master account. I' being screwed over because I decided to be truthful about my age when I made my account at 16 years old, I'm now 21.

You don't understand how mad I am about this. it is sooo stupid this should of been one of the first things on there to do list! And if they are trying to do this if like some confirmation so I don't have to create another account, why keep us in the dark!

I don't care about my 1000+ trophies. ALL of my paid content is locked to my sub account!!!! I can't just create a new account! This has dampened both my Vita and PS4 experience!

You should really add this feature. I don't wanna reset my old sub account which has more than 2600 trophies and DLCs worth 700$.

Very happy to see this slowly climbing its way to the top. Very serious problem that they can fix.

I Prefer Sub accounts to be upgraded to a master account then allow sub accounts to connect to Facebook etc. But hey i don't mind either of them as long i can use all the features on PSN.

I've been trying to get movement on this issue for too long. I've sank far too much money and time into my sub account to just throw it all away and "make a new account" as Sony tells me to. I even dedicated a facebook page to it: http://bit.ly/PSNPetition
Spread the word!

I would've given all my votes to this one feature request.

why only allow me to use 3 votes on this issue, I want to put all 10 or 100 or 1000 votes on this. This needs to happen, Unlock the 400 dollar system I bought !

I have been playing on a Sub-Account of my OWN for years. All the games I have bought and the money and time I have spent on Playstation Games and stuff. The PS4 has a share video/SS function that I can not use. There is no way to change all the years of time I have put into the screen name, no way to make my Online ID my main... what happen the parental control, seems sony has made the choice for us. All the purchases I have made for BF4 are set up on my sub account and there is no going back now ? so i will never be able to use the share function on the PS4 ???

The fact that sub accounts were originally designed for the underage gamers in the house to have certain restrictions was a good idea. However, people do get older and when they are of-age, PSN will always restrict them as though they are still underage. My husband set my account years ago up as a sub and I am a grown woman who is limited on what I can do with my account. My journey with PSN has been a rough one. When I would call in to customer service, they thought they had a simple fix for this...create a new account. First off, I didn't want a new PSN ID. Secondly, they gave no thought into all of my downloads, as they do NOT transfer over. This really NEEDS to be fixed. This is not just a handful of users that are subs. This is a bigger issue than you think because there are many sub accounts.
I wrote up an article about my love/hate relationship with PSN. It can be read here: http://www.examiner.com/article/my-love-and-hate-relationship-with-playstation-network

I created a sub-account in 2006 because I was unsure how exactly buying games on the PSN works. Now, I can't use the majority of the features on the PS4 because of my sub-account lack of permissions.
I know I can create a new manager account, but I do not want to leave all my save files, trophies, leader-board ranks on games, etc associate with my main account I use.
Sony customer service told me to create a new account. That is not a solution. It's been over 7 years since the PSN and we still can't upgrade a sub-account into a master account. Every OS available allow you to change the access level of users except for SONY PlayStation OS.

Would like to have this issue fixed. My wifes account is a sub and id like to have it as a Master on another PS4 instead in case we wanted to have different games on our machines.
